Hardware Review – Breffo Spiderpodium

Breffo SpiderpodiumSometimes products are hard to review because they simply do what they are designed to do and they cost very little. Welcome to the Breffo Spiderpodium which was kindly offered to me for review by MobileZapp. I mean it’s not like I don’t have some nice things to say about the little beastie, it is just that it is what it is and there isn’t much else to be said.

Originally I had intended for this little critter to spend his time holding up a 10″ device which was unfortunately not a viable use for the smaller device though for my Sony Xperia Z2, I found it not only functional but pretty damned nifty. Utilizing the spiderpodium as a stand seem’s almost wasteful as with a little twisting and good fun configuring you can make the spiderpodium into a grabbing mount for all sorts of creative scenario’s. Wrap the legs around a towel wrack and have it hold you’r favourite device blasting music while you sing in the shower (hypothetical scenario… honest), grapple it into your car’s dashboard, stomp matchbox car’s and battle your son’s most nefarious of super hero action figures.

Breffo Spiderpodium on benchWorking with a 7″ Samsung Kid’s Tablet is about as much as this little device can handle as the additional weight just overpowers the eight legs. Which is likely why the device comes in tablet size as well, a device I’m keen to get my hands on soon.

There is such a feeling of joy when a product is exactly what it claims to be, and that is something uniquely functional  like the Breffo Spiderpodium. Can be found for a very appetising $19.95 from MobileZapp.
